"And this commandment have from Him, That he who loveth God love his brother also." 1 John 4:21

Where Does This Hate Come From?

God never intended that His creation would ever know the meaning of racism and hate, this was not a part of His image and character. Mankind was to never know prejudice. The account in Genesis says that “God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them (Genesis 1:27) If the Bible states the truth about His character in 1 John 4:8 that “God is love?” Then God created the human agent and formed and shaped Adam and Eve the image of His divine love how could they be anything else?

We need to be careful at this point, because if we can explain and give excuse why division, hatred, and racism exists then we give reason for sin. Beloved there is no reason for this type of poison in the heart of mankind. It is a mystery how the iniquity that started in the heart of Lucifer got there. He then brought it here to Earth and tempted our first parents, and they fell into iniquity. Pride and fear seems to go hand in hand with this plague of division between us today. “And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold (Matthew 24:12).” We see this chasm was cast into the spotlight when two brothers, Cain and Able went to make their sacrifice to God. Cain went in a rebellious pride-filled manner. He did it his own way. God rejects the heart that is rooted in self. When we worship with a heart that is filled with selfish pride our worship is the religion of Cain. No matter how good we sing or pray, that worship will not be acceptable to God.

The cure to this hate problem is to humbly submit to God, repent of this sin that has been cultivated in the heart. Surrender to Christ and accept Him as Saviour and Lord. He will give you a heart to know Him and love Him. When that happens His love will be like a stream of refreshing water to others, even your enemies. It is His love that perfects you and me, and shows us how to love.
