"And this commandment have from Him, That he who loveth God love his brother also." 1 John 4:21

What Draws You?

John 12:31-33 states a fact that is true, but the evidence is hard to see, in fact in this day and age it seems to be contrary to what Christ is presenting here. Let us read the words of the Saviour.

31 Now is the judgment of this world: now shall the prince of this world be cast out. 32 And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me. 33 This he said, signifying what death he should die (KJV).

As I was driving church on Sabbath morning I passed by the usual fast food joints, you know the ones with golden arches, whoppers, and five dollar foot longs. Every parking lot was full and each drive thru was busy as the feeding frenzy was in full swing. Then the thought struck me how we are moved with impulses of the stomach, with lusts of a perverted passion. It shows in our actions who we give credence to. The devil presents a temptation and we follow it. How often do we fall when we follow what enthralls us. Lucifer has been studying you and me for years, he knows how to entice us. And we continue to fall and stumble over these things. It seems that the “prince of this world” has not been cast out, does it?

The second thought is this, if we are lifting up Christ, then where are the results? As I ask that question I realize that it is not Christ that is defective, it is us that are defective. It is how we present Him and the lack of change in our lives that causes a stale gospel. How we represent the Saviour of this world has everything to do with the power of the Gospel. His love, mercy, justice and grace must be on display in our very life, and we must allow the Holy Spirit access to our heart to shape and mold our character. We can lift Him up, but unless we reflect Him, and not the world, you are just a salesman. No draw can happen if we are drawn more to the world than Christ. Instead of following the whims of darkness we should be following the Lamb of God wherever He leads. You can tell by attendance at Prayer Meetings and Church when the local elder preaches that the attendance often shows the condition of the hearts of those who profess to be children of the King. We should be by led the Holy Spirit and drawn to the beautiful characteristics of The King of Kings and Lord of Lords. Beloved we should be pressing together seeking God and His presence, uniting as the children of God and feeding on His word. It is only Him working in us that will cause all people to be drawn to a lifted up Saviour; showing the world that He can fulfill our every need.

God Bless
